From San Marcos Record: Boosting Citizenship for San Marcos are these members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce who flocked into the court house last week to purchase their poll taxes and to become agents to enable other to buy their poll taxes through them. The agents include Hollis Smith, Bill Pennington, Jim Wilder, Gerald Stafford, Jerry Henze, Jim Michales, Lee Swift, John Ferguson, and David V Winn. "Contact any of these Jaycees and they will come to your house to fill out the form", chairman Smith said. With the deadline little more than a month away, almost 650 poll taxes have been purchased in Hays County.

The two men along with the new budget, were unanimously approved by the United Fund board of directors Tuesday night at the regular meeting. Moor and Swift expressed confidence that Hays County would band together to soot the target goal for the goal. The two will visit area leaders this week organizing the drive.
