From San Marcos Record: Wichita Falls bound are these five ladies who will be bowling in the Texas State Bowling Proprietors Handicap Tourney for women this coming weekend, Thursday through Friday. Totaling scores at the table are, standing left to right: Jerry Harper, Delores Eben, Ruby Dean Bass. Seated are: Bobbie Gilbert and Virginia Cox. The team will face the Kouri Grocery Team in the first round of play today, and they will bowl individually while in Wichita Falls. From the July 7, 1960, issue.

From San Marcos Record: One hundred eleven men and forty-two women bowlers participated in the first annual Guadalupe Valley Head Pin Tournament held September 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Bowlers came from the San Marcos and surrounding area to compete. Bill George took home first place honors in the men's division. Chris Hopper won the women's division. From San Marcos Record: Junior Jaycee Golfers George Patton, Bill Overall, and Bobby Clayton traveled from San Marcos to Del Rio June 22, 1960, to participate in the Regional Golf Tournament. Bill Overall took fourth place and garnered a trophy by shooting an 83.
